When you’re making a mad scramble across a continent and back sometimes you have to devote the day to driving and miss out on the photos. Some days you’re lucky to get one shot.
Today was that day. But it was a decent shot – a vertical panorama on the phone because my camera couldn’t squeeze in the magnificence that is Multnomah Falls.
Multnomah Falls is a waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge, east of Troutdale, Oregon, United States. The waterfall is accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway and Interstate 84. Spanning two tiers on basalt cliffs, it is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon at 620 ft (189 m) in height.[1] The falls attract over two million visitors each year,[2]making it the most-visited natural recreation site in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.[3]

The craziest thing? The falls are a two minute walk from the parking lot… which is located in the median of the Interstate. You take a short tunnel under the highway and basically there you are.
Amazing.
